Donald and Daisy

Thought this would make a cute anniversary card for my BIL and his wife. I kept the design of the card simple since the little pieces of Donald and Daisy were so little and time consuming. Not sure if you can see in the picture but I added stickles to Daisy's bracelet and eye shadow.

So Excited!!

I am now a design team member for Just My Sketches and the Blend This is my first design team position and I am excited, nervous and anxious to get started. I just love the concept for this challenge blog. Deanne Burton will be giving us sketches and then we have to blend them with a song. What a great idea!!!!

Mother's Hands

This card is for a baby shower for my nephew and his wife. They are expecting a boy in a couple of months. The image is a digital download from KLM Designs. They have some great digital images for cards and other projects. I used a Fiskars embossing plate in my Cuttlebug to emboss the white paper. I had to experiment with different arrangements of the plates to get the best embossing. This is my Cuttlebug "sandwich" for the Fiskars plates: Cuttlebug base plate, then the rubber mat, next the paper, the texture plate and then the Cuttlebug C plate. I ran it back and forth through the cuttlebug a few times as well.

Love You Layout

I just love these pictures of my sons with my Grandmother. These pictures were taken 4 years ago for her 90th birthday. We will be celebrating her 94th birthday next week!!!! I kept this layout simple so the pictures would stand out. I had more embellishments cut and ready to attach to the page but decided not to use them. I had a hard time picking papers for this layout since there are so many different colors in the pictures. I chose soft and femine papers but used a denim print for the background to go along with my son's jacket. I used a Martha Stewart border punch on the green paper.

A Valentine and a Scrapbook Layout

I found a new challenge blog featuring sketches for cards and scrapbook layouts. Over at Just My Sketches and the Blend Deanne Burton has come up with a great idea to stimulate our creativity. She features sketches and then twists things up by having you blend the sketch with a song. One of these days I will figure out how to create a link to get to a blog with just one click. For now, go to http://www.a-scrapaddicts-sketches.blogspot.com/ The valentine is for my husband. He never checks my blog so I am sure it will remain a suprise. The house layout is for a heritage scrapbook I am making about my Father-in-law who sadly passed away 2 weeks ago. The first picture of the house was taken in the 1940's and the second picture is how it looks today.

5oth Birthday Party Decorations

My future SIL and I made all the decorations for my BIL's 50th birthday party. We had so much fun putting everything together. He is our local sherriff so our theme centered around that and around being old. The 50 Sucks bucket we found at the Dollar Tree store. We started with floral foam and then added the suckers and the rest of the decorations. It was just the perfect size for 50 suckers. The other center pieces are mason jars that we filled with sand for stability and support for the decorations. We wrapped each jar in paper and ribbon. The ballons, and cricut cutouts are attached to wooden skewers.

Rule #1 My Way or the Highway

My BIL will be celebrating his 50th birthday tomorrow. He is our local sherriff so I thought this card would be just perfect for him. The card is very large. It measures 9x6 inches. A friend gave me a box full of cards from a local greeting card company that all had music modules inside. I decided to save time on this card and not take out the module but instead just layer my card on top of the existing card. The music module plays "Fun, Fun, Fun" by the Beach boys. The face is from the Too Much Fun assortment from Peachy Keen Stamps. The word sexy is stamped using alpha stamps from My Sentiments Exactly.

Hugs and Kisses

When I found this image it reminded me of my two boys. That is before my youngest started growing his hair! This is just a simple quick card that I made to send to my Grandmother. I used copics to color in the image. The phrase Hugs and Kisses is from the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge. The red background shape is cut from the A Child's Year cricut cartridge.

Girl with Bird

I used sketch #85 from Sketch Saturday. The best thing about this card is that I was able to use items from my stash as well as scraps. All the paper is from my scrap stash and the dimensional stickers were the last three on the sheet. The sentiment is also a sticker that I found in my drawer. I found this picture when I did a search for free Precious Moments coloring pages. Thought it would be a great change from winter projects. I am still practicing with my copics but I am pleased with how she turned out.

Snowman Candy Bar Wrapper

This is a very simple candy bar wrapper I made so my nephew would have a gift from us instead of just money for Christmas. The snowman is from the Snow Friends Cricut cartridge. I forgot to write down cut sizes for this project. I added a pom pom for the hat and the face is from the peachykeen stamps winter face assortment.

Hello Kitty Birthday

I made this card for a very special person in my life!! I used the card feature on the Hello Kitty Greetings cricut cartridge so it was a pretty easy card to make. I believe it was cut at 6 inches. I used clear stickles on the cake for some added bling.
