Winter Magnet Wall

This week's challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog is to use the artwork below as inspiration.
I decided it was time to update the magnet wall in my daycare area and I wanted to do a winter scene. The artwork gave me the idea to make a ski/sled run with all the kids dressed up for some fun in the snow.

I apologize for the dark pictures. It is after 10:30 here so it was hard to get decent pictures of the wall. I had lots of help with this project. My two sons did all the laminating and then triming around the images after laminating. My husband helped with the ski/sledding trail. I love it when my guys help out!

Christmas Candle

This is the Christmas gift I made for my Mother in law. The stamp is Sweet Nativity by Penny Black. I colored the image with copics and then cut it out and attached to the candle. I am sorry but I didn't write down which copic markers I used for this project.

Christmas Gift For My Family

This year for Christmas gifts for my family my son and I made a CD of some of my Grandmother's photos. When we moved her out of her apartment and into my parent's house last year, I was the lucky one who got all of her pictures. My son spent several days scanning, editing and labeling most of those pictures for me. We still have many more of the heritage photos to do but that may have to wait until he has some more time to help me. It was so much fun looking at all of her pictures.
I made this mini scrapbook layout of my Grandparents for the cover of the CD case. The tag will be on the outside of the wrapped gift. I am entering this project into the December contest on the Cricut Circle Blog. We were to make a holiday gift using the following guidelines: use a tag from one of the Cricut cartridges, use red somewhere on the project, use ribbon, and use one of the phrases on any of the Cricut cartridges. The photo I used is of my Grandparents. After I cut the swirl, I decided it looked like the letter S which was just perfect for this layout since my grandparents last name is Smith.

More Alphabet Ornaments

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope that you get to spend your day with loved ones. We are spending the day relaxing and enjoying being just the four of us at home for a little while before we go to my Mother inlaws for Christmas dinner.
Instead of giving each of my guys a Christmas card this year, I made us all new ornaments for the tree. I stamped each of the images onto heavy stamping paper and colored with my copics. I attached them to the ceramic ornaments using my ATG.
Merry Christmas!!

Happy 15th Birthday To My Son

Happy Birthday to Ben! My youngest son is 15 today! This is his birthday card. My husband wandered into my craft room the other day and I put him to work! He made this card all on his own. My son says his favorite color is pink. I think he just likes to see the looks on people's faces when he says that. Such a typical teenage boy! He loves Chevy trucks so this was a no brainer card form my hubby to make. My hubby drew the Chey logo on the inside of the truck and then traced and cut out.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #39 Anything Goes

Christmas is just a couple of days away and I am so excited. This is my favorite time of the year and this is the first year that I am STRESS FREE!! Yippee! I have been having so much fun making cards, decorating presents, shopping, partying, etc that I haven't felt any stress.
This is our final Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge for 2010 and the theme is "Anything Goes" I decided that I would use the Poinsettia image from Digi Doodle Shop to decorate one of my packages. I printed the flower out three times on white cardstock. The bottom layer is the entire image. For the middle layer of the flower I cut away the leaves and two of the flower petals. For the top layer I cut away all except for the center and three of the petals. Since I used heavy cardstock, I did not use pop dots for dimension. I simple curled the flowers slightly to give them some added dimension. I am hoping that you can see this in the second picture. I added stickles and some self adhesive beads to make the poinsettia sparkle and shine. My 16 year old son looked at the gift and said, "Mom how long did that take you, it is so pretty!" Awww, isn't he sweet? I will let you in on my secret....this was one of the easiest projects I have made so far and that package is beautiful!
We would love to have you join us for this challenge. Simple make a card or other project and link it up over at Digi Doodle Shop's Best for your chance to wind a gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop

Christmas Alphabet Ornaments

There are a few of the Christmas ornaments I made this year. The letters are ceramic Christmas ornaments from Hobby Lobby. I used a different Magnolia stamp for each ornament.
**Answers to a few questions: I did not stamp onto the ceramic letters. I stamped all the images onto 150lb drawing paper from Canson. I then colored all the images with copics and cut them out. I simply attached each one to the ceramic ornament using my ATG.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #38 New Beginnings

Time for another fun challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Best. The theme for this challenge is "New Beginnings." This theme is so versatile. You could make a card for the new year like me or maybe for a new baby, a wedding, a new house, etc. After you finish your project be sure to link it up over at Digi Doodle Shop's Best for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop.

*I am sure some of you reading my blog post will think that the horse shoe is upside down. Many people put a horse shoe over the door with the horse shoe looking like a U so that they will have good luck. Actually, the horse shoe should be placed over the door just like in the digi image I used. This is to ward off the Devil. This tradition came about due to the story of St. Dunstan who is said to have nailed a horse shoe to the Devil to cause him great pain. Dunstan removed the horse shoe but made the Devil promise that he would never enter a place with the horse shoe over the door. If interested, you can read about St. Dunstan HERE.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #17 Holiday Planner

It's time for another fun challenge at Aud Sentiments. This week the theme is "Holidays" You must use that word somewhere on your project. I forgot to take a picture of the front of my "Holiday" Planner where I used that phrase. What a dork!!
Anyway, my project if you haven't figured it out yet, is a Holiday planner. You can find directions for making one from an ordinary file folder over at Splitcoast Stampers. For this challenge we are being sponsored by Bugaboo Stamps. All of their stamps are so much fun. I couldn't decide on just one for this project so I used four! I made pages for each of my pockets to help keep me organized this Christmas. I love to make to do lists and I always keep a notebook of our Christmas budget, who to buy for, how much to spend on each person, wish lists and of course keep track of all the Christmas cards I make and send out each year. It has become kind of a tradition for my kids to try and find my Christmas notebook each year. They gave up on snooping for the actual gifts and instead just look through my notebook if they can find it. One of these years I will get smart and leave a fake notebook laying around for them to find.
We would love for you to join us in this challenge. Please make a card, scrapbook layout, Christmas gift, etc and use the phrase "Happy Holidays" somewhere on your project. You can link it up HERE for a chance to win a great prize from Bugaboo Stamps.
Project Details:
Images: Angel, Elf, Reindeer and Snowman from the Bobblehead collection at Bugaboo Stamps
Copics: E35, E37, E53, E43, E40. E00, E21, E25, E33, R27, R29, E27, E29, G07, C5, C3, C7, BG10, YR16

The Dare

This card just makes me laugh! The challenge over at Sassy Cheryl's was to use two of her digi stamps in a project. I put together "Getting Stuck" and "Winter Stamp" to tell a story. To me this looks like a brother and sister out on a winter day and the sister dared the brother to touch the light post with his tongue. Doesn't she look like she is thrilled that he actually went through with the dare? I kept the card simple without embellishments so that the focus is on the image and the story I wanted to tell.

Disclaimer: Any similarity in the story to my brother and myself as kids is purely intentional! Hahaha!

Each one of them is my favorite! Hahaha! Just like I tell each of my kids that they are my favorite. I added snow white flower soft to Santa Edwin's fur and stickles to the candy cane and Tilda's gold dress. The lights are actually miniature ornaments. All papers are from My Mind's Eye. You can see the individual letters up close in my next post. I made this for the challenge over at Magnolia-llicious Highlites. The challenge was to create a letter or word project using Magnolia stamps.

I just love how this card turned out. I used Secret Tilda. I just love this Christmas paper from My Mind's Eye. The blue and green is so pretty together. I added some silver glitter paper as well. I used lots of stickles on the flowers, package ribbon, branches and the snowflakes.

Bella Loves Christmas!

Isn't this a gorgeous digi image? It is Bella Loves Christmas from Mo's Digital Pencil. I have been wanting to use this image for a long time and finally had a chance to make a card with her today. The babbles on the card are from Hobby Lobby. They are actually ornaments for miniature Christmas trees. I think they made a great accent for this card. All the papers are from scenic route.

Card Details:

Gold Tilda

I just love a good challenge. They help me think of new color combos and card sketches. I still prefer a nice clean, uncluttered look to my cards though. This card was made for the Totally Tilda Challenge. The theme is glitz and gold. I used the Christmas Angel Tilda. For her gold headband, wings and stars I first colored them with the E43 Copic marker and then went over the top with the gold spica pen. I used clear stickles on her dress and gold stickles on the flower.
