Queen Of Hearts

Don't you just love this Sassy Queen of Hearts? I decided to leave this card without a sentiment so that I can use it later for either a valentine, anniversary card or even a birthday card. I used snow white flower soft on the trim of her robe. I gave her dress a light painting over with glitter paint and added a small gem on her cheek.

Halloween Card

Ugh! Up during the night with a sick kid. Guess they still need mom even when a teenager. My 17 year old self diagnosed himself with strep and possibly wisdom teeth. Couldn't get back to sleep so I decided to do some crafting while I wait for t he Doctor's office to open. Luckily, this card fit the challenge at Sassy Cheryl's so my middle of the night crafting paid off.

Sassy Witch

The challenge this week at Sassy Studio Designs is "Hip To Be Square" That means we want to see your square cards. You can link up your challenge entry HERE.

I made the flower out of black satiny material and netting. The flowers are super easy to make. I cut out circles at 2, 1.75, 1.5 and 1.25 inches. I held each circle over a small candle to melt the edges so they would curly slightly. I then layered the circles with the largest on the bottom and added a bed in the center.

I created the sentiment myself using microsoft word.

Yummy Apple Pie

This is my very first project with my Cricut Cake machine.

I cut the apples out of pie dough using the Doodle Charms cartridge at 2 and 3 inches. I wanted the apples to stand out more on the pie so I mixed red food coloring with a beaten egg and brushed it onto the apples before baking.

I had leftover pie crust so made some cinnamon crisps too (which is my favorite part of baking pies). Yummy!!

Aud Sentiments Challenge #37 Get Well Card

The challenge this week at Aud Sentiments is to make a Get Well Card. For this challenge we are being sponsored by Daisy Doodles. One lucky winner will receive a $10 gift certificate. Daisy Doodles supplied each of the DT members with digital images to use for their cards. You may be looking at my card and wondering, "hey where's Julies digi image?" I decided to use one of their paper pricking patterns. I love the way paper pricking looks and this pattern was easy to use and gives my card a simple yet elegant look.

We would love to have you join us in this challenge. Simply create a card or project following the theme and link it up to the challenge blog.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge #75 Circles

It's time for another fun challenge at Digi Doodle Shop's Challenges. This week we are challenging you to use circles on your project. I decided to add another Christmas card to my stash for the holiday season. Since this card will probably be sent in the mail, I kept it flat and easy to send in the mail. I chose to use 2 images from the Digi Doodle Shop for this challenge. The first is Santa n Sack and I also used the circle sentiment from the shop. We would love to have you join us for this challenge. Simple create a project using circles and link it up to the challenge blog for your chance to win a gift certificate to the Digi Doodle Shop. Don't forget to check out the rules for the challenges HERE.

Magnet Board

I found this magnet board by Carolee's Creations at my lss. I decided it would work great as a memo board/picture display in my kitchen. The board was actually meant to be used with the scallops along the bottom but I liked them at the top better. All the papers I used are from the My Mind's Eye Lost and Found collection. I painted the board black before I attached the papers using Mod Podge.
I made these flowers out of brown satin material and tulle. I cut the material into circles and then melted the edges slightly over a tea light candle so they would curl and look more like a rose. I cut the circles out at 2, 1.75, 1.5 and 1.25 inches. I used 2 of each size for each of the flowers. The gold beads in the centers of the flowers are from my Grandmother. She gave me all of her crafting supplies several years ago. I added some tulle and feathers as accents to finish off the flowers.

The birdcage was cut using the Sophie Cricut cartridge at 3 inches. I cut it out 3 times using very thick cardstock and layered the cuts for added dimension. The leaf corner was cut using the Storybook Cricut cartridge at 4.5 inches

I made the pleated flowers using stips of paper cut at 12x1.25 inches. I scored them every .25 inches and then fan folded them. The centers are fabic covered buttons that I found in my stash. I attached a small round magnet to the back of each pleated flower and the small scalloped circles so that I can use them to hold my memos and pictures.
