I just love these pictures of the boys. It was a beautiful fall day and we stopped at a local park after church to enjoy the weather. I used the 4/29 sketch from Sketchy Thursdays for this layout. It is a simple layout but really shows off the pics.

New Challenge Starts Today

So excited!!! The first challenge at Audsentiments starts today! This is a brand new challenge blog centered around sentiments. A new challenge will start every other Thursday. Golden Wedding Anniversary

I made this card for a couple in our small town who are celebrating their 50th wedding annivesary. The design for this card is totally "lifted" Unfortunately, I do not remember where I saw the card or who made it in order to give credit. To make the card, I started with the circle card feature from the Wild Card Cricut cart. I cut it at 5.5 inches. I used the Martha Stewart heart border punch and the MS branch punch. The heart ribbon slide is from Walmart. They had several packages in their clearance section and I am wishing I had grabbed more. The sentiment on the outside is from a Close To My Heart Stamp set. The large gold flower was made using the 5 petal flower from the George Cricut cart. I cut three of them at 2 inch, 1.75 inches and 1.25 inches. I dampened them with my water color paint brush and then crumpled them up. I let them dry and then opened them back up and used my heat embosing gun to shrink them slightly. The stamen is from a cluster of wedding flowers I found in the clearance section at Michaels. That technique makes a very pretty flower and amazingly after it is dry, it is not fragile and will hold its shape well. The inside sentiment is a poem I found online.

This adorable stamp is from Penny Black. All the papers and circle embellishments are from the Making Memories Travel Project Pad. The airplane was cut at 1.25 inches using the Mickey and Friends Cricut cartridge

Herbert the Turtle Birthday Cupcake

This card is for two challenges this week, Sketch Saturday and Karen's Doodles. The sketch is from Sketch Saturday for week #99. The cute little turtle is a Karen's Doodles image. It was a recipe challenge this time for Karen's Doodles. We were to include two pattern papers, a ribbon, 3 brads/gems, and a border (my border is around the turtle).

You Can't Turn Back The Clock

I found this pattern paper at Hobby Lobby and thought it was gorgeous. Naturally, I had to make a card as soon as I got home. I did not make this card with any particular person in mind so I have kept the inside blank for now. I figure this card is versatile enough that I could use it as a masculine card if needed. The clock is cut from a piece of pattern paper that I have had in my stash for years. Works great with the sentiment! I tried out my new Nellie Snellen punches for the flowers. I also used the Martha Stewart branch punch. I am entering this card in the first challenge at the Sentimental Sundays Challenge blog.
