Sorry, I couldn't resist the corny title for this posting. These two Easter baskets will find their way to a couple of special people. I used digi images from Karen's Doodles for the front of each basket. On the Karen's Doodles challenge blog this week the challenge is a photo inspiration. The picture is of a lovely bedroom all done in pink, white and green. Perfect colors for a couple of Easter baskets.

Gone Fishing

These pictures were taken on Father's Day in 2003. We had a great time fishing in the pond. Everyone caught fish that day and we all had to pose with our best catch. Grandpa caught the smallest fish but he still had to show it off. It is hard to see in the pictures but I added actual fishing line the fishing poles. The fishing line goes down behind the pictures and is attached to the fish in the corners. I used the 3-24-2010 sketch from Let's Scrap for this layout.

Special Day Birthday Card

This card is for my nephew who will be 11 years old soon. We decided that it would be more fun to spend the day with him than to give him just another toy. Our plans are to take him out to eat, to see the movie "How To Train Your Dragon" or to go bowling and then we would end the day with him spending the night at our house. Somewhere in there we will probably end up going to the store and letting him pick out something he would like. I am hoping that he likes this gift and is as excited about the day as we are. Lots of Cricut cuts on this one from lots of different carts. I was in a rush to finish so I am disappointed that I didn't have more time to embellish with ink and chalk.

Dream...Just My Sketches March 15th Challenge

This is my layout for the March 15th layout challenge over at Just My Sketches. Deanne has fabulous sketches but the real fun is that she provides a list of songs for you to blend with your page. I chose the song Fireflies by Owl City for this layout. The pictures are of my dad. He can fall asleep anywhere!! I took a little liberty with the sketch and added some clouds with images of what I thought he might be dreaming about. I am sure he is really loving me this morning with this layout posted on my blog. If you want to play along with us this time hop on over to Just My Sketches and check out the song list. Don't forget to leave a comment with a link to your layout and you might just win a prize.

I made this card using a digi stamp from Karen's Doodles. She has lots of cute images and currently is offering a sale. Yippee!!! Had fun doing a little shopping this morning. I thought this guy was just so stinkin cute and just had to make a card. I thought the chocolate Easter bunny looked so cute. Looks just like this little guy took a bite. Karen has a new challenge blog and this is the first ever challenge. You can view her challenge blog here.

I'm Not Smiling

Over on the Cricut Message Boards there was a challenge this week to use the Stretch Your Imagination cart. All images had to be from that cart but other carts could be used for the fonts. I had very little time for crafting this week so this challenge helped. I used the card feature on the cart so it made this card very quick and easy to do. This card is for my BIL. If he is smiling, you want to leave the room quickly!!! Along with the card we gave him the ingredients to make his favorite dish, beans and weenies!!! and a gift card to his favorite restaurant.
Card details:
Basic card: Card feature on Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cart 5.5 inches
Font: Base Camp Cricut cart 1 inch

Confirmation Card

My son is being confirmed tonight so we needed some thank you cards for his sponsor and teacher. This was a pretty simple card. I didn't take a pic of the inside but the sentiment is a quote from Mother Teresa. It says, "God doesn't look at how much we do, but with how much love we do it." I don't think the pictures does the card justice. The dove is cut from a metallic paper and is just gorgeous in person.
Card details:
Cross: Wedding Cricut cart cut at 5.5 inches
Dove: Beyond Birthdays Cricut cart cut at 2.5 inches
Embossing: Swiss Dots Cuttlebug folder

Grandma's 90th Birthday Album

This was such a fun project. My Sister-in-law,Kim and my niece Aubri spent the afternoon at my house on Sunday working on this album for my Grandmother. It was fun working together and seeing what ideas we would all come up with for the different pages. My Grandmother turned 90 yesterday and this album is for her party to use as a guest book. This picture is the title page. Each of the other pages includes pictures of her at various stages of her life as well as her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with an area for guests to sign. Scroll down to see the rest of the album!!!!

My Grandparents

This is my March 1st design team layout for Just My Sketches. The concept of this challenge blog is to create a scrapbook layout using the provided sketch but the twist is to blend the layout with a song. This is a picture of my grandparents. The sketch and songs made me think of weddings so I couldn't resist completing a layout of their wedding. Also, today is my Grandmother's 90th birthday!!!! The hearts were cut out of black paper and then I used an embossing ink pad to stamp them and then embossed with silver. I added some white dew drops and they look just like pearls on the page. Please play along with us and create your own layout using the sketch and songs. I would love to see more takes on this sketch.
