Winter Magnet Wall

This week's challenge at the Cricut Circle Blog is to use the artwork below as inspiration.
I decided it was time to update the magnet wall in my daycare area and I wanted to do a winter scene. The artwork gave me the idea to make a ski/sled run with all the kids dressed up for some fun in the snow.

I apologize for the dark pictures. It is after 10:30 here so it was hard to get decent pictures of the wall. I had lots of help with this project. My two sons did all the laminating and then triming around the images after laminating. My husband helped with the ski/sledding trail. I love it when my guys help out!

Christmas Candle

This is the Christmas gift I made for my Mother in law. The stamp is Sweet Nativity by Penny Black. I colored the image with copics and then cut it out and attached to the candle. I am sorry but I didn't write down which copic markers I used for this project.

Christmas Gift For My Family

This year for Christmas gifts for my family my son and I made a CD of some of my Grandmother's photos. When we moved her out of her apartment and into my parent's house last year, I was the lucky one who got all of her pictures. My son spent several days scanning, editing and labeling most of those pictures for me. We still have many more of the heritage photos to do but that may have to wait until he has some more time to help me. It was so much fun looking at all of her pictures.

I made this mini scrapbook layout of my Grandparents for the cover of the CD case. The tag will be on the outside of the wrapped gift. I am entering this project into the December contest on the Cricut Circle Blog. We were to make a holiday gift using the following guidelines: use a tag from one of the Cricut cartridges, use red somewhere on the project, use ribbon, and use one of the phrases on any of the Cricut cartridges. The photo I used is of my Grandparents. After I cut the swirl, I decided it looked like the letter S which was just perfect for this layout since my grandparents last name is Smith.

More Alphabet Ornaments

Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas! I hope that you get to spend your day with loved ones. We are spending the day relaxing and enjoying being just the four of us at home for a little while before we go to my Mother inlaws for Christmas dinner.

Instead of giving each of my guys a Christmas card this year, I made us all new ornaments for the tree. I stamped each of the images onto heavy stamping paper and colored with my copics. I attached them to the ceramic ornaments using my ATG.

Happy 15th Birthday To My Son

Happy Birthday to Ben! My youngest son is 15 today! This is his birthday card. My husband wandered into my craft room the other day and I put him to work! He made this card all on his own. My son says his favorite color is pink. I think he just likes to see the looks on people's faces when he says that. Such a typical teenage boy! He loves Chevy trucks so this was a no brainer card form my hubby to make. My hubby drew the Chey logo on the inside of the truck and then traced and cut out.

This sweet little Tilda is from the Magnolia Stamps Winter Stamp Club. I just received my stamps in the mail this week. For this card I used the card feature from the Sweet Treats Cricut cart. I used dimensionals to pop the balloon and center of the bow on the package.

Digi Doodle Shop's Best Challenge #39 Anything Goes

Christmas is just a couple of days away and I am so excited. This is my favorite time of the year and this is the first year that I am STRESS FREE!! Yippee! I have been having so much fun making cards, decorating presents, shopping, partying, etc that I haven't felt any stress.

This is our final Digi Doodle Shop's Best challenge for 2010 and the theme is "Anything Goes" I decided that I would use the Poinsettia image from Digi Doodle Shop to decorate one of my packages. I printed the flower out three times on white cardstock. The bottom layer is the entire image. For the middle layer of the flower I cut away the leaves and two of the flower petals. For the top layer I cut away all except for the center and three of the petals. Since I used heavy cardstock, I did not use pop dots for dimension. I simple curled the flowers slightly to give them some added dimension. I am hoping that you can see this in the second picture. I added stickles and some self adhesive beads to make the poinsettia sparkle and shine. My 16 year old son looked at the gift and said, "Mom how long did that take you, it is so pretty!" Awww, isn't he sweet? I will let you in on my secret....this was one of the easiest projects I have made so far and that package is beautiful!
