Gifts from my sons
My sons each made me a Christmas gift this year. My 15 year old made me a tile with vinyl. He hijacked my Cricut and design studio one day to make my gift. It is wonderful and I just love the images and words he chose. My 14 year old made me the wooden tree. I call it my Charlie Brown tree. It is just so cute!!! Both are wonderful gifts and I will treasure them always. Aren't homemade gifts the best?

Christmas Gifts from My Sister-in-Law!!
My SIL suprised me with some great handmade gifts. The first is the framed picture. It is just adorable and I love all of the paper dolls she made. My daycare kids will have fun trying to figure out which of the paper dolls is them. The next gift is the box and note pad. She used the anniversary card I gave her and my brother to decorate the two. Inside the box was the pebbles. She printed out small pictures of some of my projects I had on my blog and attached them to the back of the pebbles. The pebbles are flat on the back and then she added a magnet. What a great idea. Love them all and she is very creative!!!

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe
Merry Christmas to all!!!! I hope that everyone is enjoying their holiday with family and friends. We have snow and I am looking forward to a day snuggled in with hot chocolate and spending time with the family. This is the card I made for my husband for Christmas this year. After opening it, he looked around for the mistletoe... I used the cuttlebug snowflakes embossing folder and added pearls and ribbon to finish it off. Very simple by elegant card.

Snow Globe Cards
Made these cards for my sons for Christmas. When they were younger they used to get me a new snow globe every year for Christmas. Benjamin says his favorite color is pink so I couldn't resist adding pink rhinestones to his snowman. I used the snow flakes cuttlebug folder to emboss the globe. I used my platinum ink pad to add some color to the flakes. The faces are from the Peachy Keen stamps winter face assortment.

I have had all of the presents wrapped but needed to add the gift tags. If you look closely in the picture, you will notice that I write the name of the recipient in the upper left corner as I wrap. I do this so I remember who gets what until I get the tags on them.

Handprint Calendar
Each of my daycare kids made a calendar for their parents for Christmas. I found the calendars at Michaels for $1. The calendars are the 2010 kids art calendars so each month had a cute border and a place to put artwork which was just perfect for this project. I have kids in my care that range in age from 4 months to 4 years so I needed a project that all could do. I used my cricut to make basic shapes for us to embellish using the kid's fingerprints, handprints, footprints or by tracing their arms and hands. The calendars turned out great and I can't wait for the kids to give them to their parents. On the inside cover I attached a poem about kids and their messy fingerprints and footprints. Since their are so many pictures, I will post this project in 3 separate posts so if you want to see each month of the year, scroll down the page.
Jan: Snowflake cut at 7 inches from A Child's Year I put a picture of each child dressed in their winter clothes in the center of the snowflake
Feb: Heart cut at 6.5 inches from Mickey and Friends cartridge. We used our handprints to make the hearts inside

Naughty Mrs. Claus
This is the Christmas card I made for my husband last year. He loved it!!! I used a paper piecing pattern for the card shape and then for the bra and panties. I found the white fur with the holiday trims at Target. The tattoo on the cheek is a stamp from CTMH. Having troubles coming up with a card idea for him this year.
Vikings Poster
I made two cards yesterday but forgot to take pics of them before I mailed them out. Just couldn't resist posting the pic of my son's project for school. My son made this poster for a report he has to give in class on the Vikings. He used the Cricut cartridge Base Camp for the lettering and the Indie Art cartridge for the flames. To get the flames the size he wanted, he used Design Studio to stretch and manipulate them. He did this all on his own and I didn't even know he used my Cricut until he was done. Both my boys know which of my supplies and papers are acceptable to use and they often create on their own for their school projects.

What's So Funny Snowman
I just love this stamp from Peachykeenstamps. I decided to try a little different color combo so combined green for Christmas and blue and white for winter. I colored the snowman with copics and added some stickles. The white border was done with the Martha Stewart border punch. The snowflakes are from the new cricut cartridge, When it's cold outside. I am leaving the card blank inside because I am not sure if I will use this as a Christmas card or a thank you card after the holidays.
