ABC Christmas L/M

 Hello Crafty Friends!

Today starts a new challenge at ABC Christmas Challenge.
The theme for this month is
L for Little
or
M for Music

For my DT card I chose to use M for Music and I used this adorable digi stamp from Sassy Cheryl's called Snowman Sing Along

I hope you join us in this challenge and add a card or two to your Christmas card stash.

Christmas Wishes

There are only 46 more days til Christmas!
I am getting closer to having my Christmas cards done and ready to mail.  In fact, I only have 3 left to make that need to be mailed and then 3 more for special family members.
My goal was to be done by the beginning of December.  I think I'm going to make that goal this year.
I used a sketch from Cheerful Sketches for this card.  I used the scraps I created when I cut my triangles for the inside of the card.

7th Birthday Party Celebration at Aud Sentiments

Happy Birthday to Aud Sentiments!

I'm having a hard time believing I have been a member of Aud Sentiments DT for 7 years!!
It's been a fun 7 years. I've met lots of creative crafters and have seen so many beautiful creations.

Since it's a birthday celebration, the theme is what else but to use a birthday sentiment or the #7.
My first project is a card I made for a special young man who will be 7 years old at the end of April.  Instead of a sentiment, I decided to use the #7. The banner was created using the Celebrations Cricut cartridge.  I even found some pattern paper with the number 7.
My second project is actually two wine bottle tags I made for a friend's 60th birthday.  Her fiance suggested decorating in black.  I had to add a pop of pink and green for a little fun.

Valentine Card

I just love this image from Sassy Cheryl's! Her images are always fun and remind me of my childhood. That little dog also reminds me of my dog, Isabella.
I started with nontraditional Valentine colors for this card and then added a touch of pink. The heart border and corner punch is from Martha Stewart. It makes a great frame for the card.

Easter Cards

Happy Easter!
I am cutting it close with getting these cards done.  I finished them just in time to deliver to family tonight at our Easter dinner.  Now all I have to do is decorate cupcakes and make a couple casseroles.
I used the same card design for these cards as I did with my other Easter cards.  I just changed papers and stamps used.  It made for faster work and the cards still all look unique.

Card Details:

Happy Thanksgiving

Taking a short break from Christmas cards to make a card for Thanksgiving. The new challenge at Scrapbooker PhD is to create a fall project with a die cut and a stamp.
This little guy is adorable as a turkey.  I always struggle to make pretty bows and I finally had an aha moment one day when I was putting a new bow in my puppy's hair for her top knot...duh why not make the bows for my cards the same way?  So much easier and less frustrating for me.  If you want to know my secret, you can watch this VIDEO.  You can use a small rubber band but I use the tiny clear bands that I use for Isabella's top knots.  I get them HERE.  The clear bands don't show and are tiny enough that it is easy to tuck behind the bow.

My First Zentangle

I decided to try a little Zentangling (is that a word?)  Zentangle is a popular new way to doodle.  It is supposed to be relaxing.  I found it frustrating.  My sister in law makes beautiful Zentangle projects.  She even has some for sale in her etsy shop,  The Purple O.  She is taking a little break for summer to spend time with her kids.
Anyway, it was frustrating for me because even though I know it's not supposed to be perfect, I do not have a steady hand for doodling.  I am sharing my first try, mistakes and imperfections included.

Heart Throb

Here's a simple valentine for someone special.
I just love this little guy.  He reminds me of my youngest son when he was in grade school.

For Christmas my hubby gave me a Happy Birthday die that has the words wrapped on a corner.
I absolutely love it.  It came from Die Versions.  I have searched through all of their corner sentiment dies and couldn't find one for valentines day that I just loved as much as the Happy Birthday one.
The other day I had an "A Ha" moment and decided to try and make my own corner sentiment using the Cricut Craft Room.  It was so easy to do that I didn't just stop at this one.  I have created so many corner sentiments that I am not sure I will be able to make enough cards to use them.  Anyway, this "Heart Throb" corner sentiment was one of the first I made. So simple, yet a great way to add a sentiment to my cards and scrapbook pages.
To go along with the "Heart Throb" sentiment I stitched a heart rhythm along the bottom.

You've Got The "Write" Stuff

I couldn't resist a little play on words with this card.  I am planning to put it in my stash of care package items for my son.  He is a college student and I love to send him and several of his friends cards and small gifts throughout the year.  I will probably send this during finals week.

Ok, now for a little bit of mom bragging...my son just finished his first year at college and came home with straight A's for both semesters!!  He got all his smarts from his mom....hahahaha!  He is spending the summer taking 2 classes plus working 2 jobs.  He is getting trained today to scrub in for surgeries so he can get a little closer when he goes in to observe.  He is planning to go to med school and would like to be a family practioner in a rural area.  Love that kid!
