Dragonfly card

Grandma asked my to make her some cards to give to a friend as a gift. This is one of the cards I made. I bought the ribbon on sale at Michael's so the whole card is designed around the ribbon. The dragonfly is cut several times and popdotted for dimension. The top layer of wings is printed vellom. The stick pin was made using beads grandma gave me several years ago. The background paper was embossed with the Stylized flowers cuttlebug embossing folder.

Happy Father's Day

This is the Father's Day card for my dad. Ben told me I had to make him a card like the one I made for my FIL with the tractors. He suggested I use gem stones since my dad collects them. The gems on the front of the card are from the Happily Ever After Cricut cart. They are with the seven dwarfs. The gem on the inside of the card is from Indi Art Cricut cart. I waited until today to post this card since my mom said dad checked out my blog the other day looking for his card. Ha Ha!! The gems are layered and I used clear stickles on the bottom layer to make the gems glitter.

Father's Day Gifts for Hubby

For Father's Day the boys are going to make their dad chocolate chip cookies to put in the large can and mixed nuts for the smaller can. We'll stick a gift card to go out to eat in the tag pocket. The cans are baby formula cans that I had saved because I just knew I could use them in a craft project. All the pattern paper for this project is from K & Company. The inking is done with CTMH's Chocolate stamp pad (how appropriate!) The card measures 6x6. I had leftover paper so I cut his name out to put on the envie. I like to add special touches to the envies so people get a hint of what might be inside. The ribbon is from Michaels. They had it on sale and I couldn't resist buying it. Sesame Street and Friends is such a versatile cart. It has so many extras on it besides the characters.

Daycare magnet wall

This is my magnet wall in my daycare. The wall is painted with a special paint that gives the wall a magnetic surface just like refridgerators. Each of the paper dolls measures 7 inches and were created using the Paper Doll Dress Up cricut cartridge. Each of the dolls is made to resemble one of the kids in my care. The faces on the kids were done using a Peachykeen face stamp.

Ooh La La Lollipop!!

I made this card for the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge. The challenge was to use the sketch provided and any of their stamps. I only have a few sets of their face stamps but they are so much fun. Aren't the faces on the lollipops just adorable? The pink paper and green paper are embossed using the Spots and Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder. The face on the large lollipop is from the Cheery-O's faces assortment and the face on the smaller lollipops is from the Winter faces set. I used chalk and stickles to embellish the face on the large lollipop. I found some cello wrap and used that as the wrapper. The stick is an actual lollipop stick (yes, I ate the lollipop just so I could use the stick! Oh the suffering we do for our crafting...lol!) The large lollipop was made with two circles. I used pop dots for some dimension and to allow room for the stick.

Father's Day Tractor Card

This card is for my FIL. He has been a farmer all his life. I decided a tractor would be a good image to use. Since he prefers International Tractors which are red, that inspired me to think "Red is Love" I then looked up the meanings for other colors and the card took shape from there. Some of the wording is computer generated but the words under the tractors were made using my alpha stamps.
Card size: 6x6
Cricut cuts: Tractor from My World Cart cut at 1 1/2 and 1 3/4
Heart from George Cart cut at 1 1/2

Mockingbirds in our backyard

A pair of Mockingbirds have made a nest in our Wisteria. We have had so much fun watching them. They have been swooping down on our cats trying to scare them off so they won't get their babies. Poor Levi found the perfect hiding spot, or so she thought, when she found a small opening in the wisteria. The birds went crazy until I got Levi out of there. One of the dogs heard the babies and sat by the wisteria trying to see them.

Mockingbird Card

We have a pair of mockingbirds that have made a nest in our wisteria. Watching them swoop down on our cats to proctect their babies gave me the idea for this card. I used a diamond lattice cut file for the card. I am not sure who made the cut file but when I find out I will give that person credit. It worked perfect for the card since our wisteria grows around lattice work.
