Colon Cancer Awareness Bracelet

Hello crafty friends

I usually just share my paper crafts here but I decided I would share the bracelets I made for Christmas gifts this year.
My husband was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer in April 2017.  He has been tolerating his chemo treatments with minimal side effects.
I made these bracelets for myself, his mom, sisters and sisters-in-law this Christmas.  I figure when we wear the bracelets, it will remind us to pray for him so that his treatments continue to work.
The bracelet pictured is mine. After I made it to fit my wrist I realized I used 10 blue beads. When Tom first met with the oncologist we thought he wouldn't have much time left. His Dr told us that he had a patient who was still going strong after 10 years.  10 years then became our goal to beat.

It's A Party

Hello crafty friends.
I am taking a break from Christmas projects to share this birthday card.

This is my DT project for Digi Choosday.  The DT was given the challenge of 'It's Party Time" for our projects but you can make anything you want for the challenge.
I wanted to keep this card simple but fun so I decided to paper piece the balloons and the ribbon on the present.

I am so excited that we are now in the Advent season.  It's time to send those Christmas and holiday cards we have been making all year.  A few of the cards I have made will be hard to part with. This card is one of my favorites.

I used Holly Wreath Tilda from magnolia stamps for this card. I think she is adorable in blue and silver.
Here is the inside of the card.

Fun In The Snow

We had our second snow this fall over the weekend.  I hope that isn't a prediction for how much it will snow when winter actually begins next month.

Anyway, this is my DT card for Digi Choosday.  The theme is always anything goes but the DT was given the theme of Snow to use for our projects.

I used Hollybobs Skater for my card.  I had fun adding snow using white embossing enamel and gesso around the card edges.  For the ice I used Crackle accents.

I also had fun with the inside of the card.  I used the Snowman Sentiments stencil to add a cute snowman.  I used gesso and then sprinkled ultra fine glitter on top before the gesso was dry.

All of the papers used are from the Hollybobs download collection.  I love the swirls as a background for the snowman.

Merry X-Mas

I'm sharing another Christmas card today.  It snowed yesterday and it has put me in the mood for Christmas.
I run a daycare from my home and the kids woke up from their nap all excited to see it snowing.  One of my daycare girls asked all excitedly, "Julie, does it mean that it's time for Christmas?" I answered her by telling her how many sleeps we have until Christmas (46 in case you are wondering). But inside I kept saying to myself, 'Yes, yes, it's time for Christmas!"

Christmas Wishes

There are only 46 more days til Christmas!
I am getting closer to having my Christmas cards done and ready to mail.  In fact, I only have 3 left to make that need to be mailed and then 3 more for special family members.
My goal was to be done by the beginning of December.  I think I'm going to make that goal this year.
I used a sketch from Cheerful Sketches for this card.  I used the scraps I created when I cut my triangles for the inside of the card.

Card Details:
Santa: Sassy Cheryls

A Little Sunshine in November

I have most of my Christmas cards finished so I decided to take a break from making holiday cards and make something for a friend.
This is my DT card for Addicted To Stamps.  The challenge is Anything Goes with the option of ribbon.  I made a ribbon bow and tucked it behind the daisy.  I also found this fabulous white and yellow daisy ribbon in my stash that works perfectly for this card.  Oh and I glittered up the ribbon in her hair.

Trick or Treat

It's time for a new challenge at Addicted to Stamps.  The theme is Autumn Colors.
I have discovered I like digital scrapbook papers for my crafting.  They don't take up tons of room in my craft room and when you find a pattern you like, you can use it over and over again without a trip to the store or the fear the line will be discontinued. I found this great paper pack called Choose Joy from Ooh La La Scraps.

I took a break from making square cards and made a more tradional 4.25x5.5 card.

We go Together Like...

I made this card for my husband for our 27th anniversary.  It's simple and silly but sometimes a little silliness is what you need.

Here is the inside:

To go along with the card, I made him a batch of chocolate chip cookies and picked up some milk from a local dairy.  Our anniversary was last week but he is just now getting his milk and cookies.  Last week was his chemo week and he is unable to tolerate cold beverages so I waited until his side effects were gone.
