Owl Card

My son had his 22nd birthday the other day and this was the card I made him.  He is one of my biggest crafting supporters so I knew he would notice right away that I tried a new technique. (He did and asked me about it).  I finally got a chance to play with the distress reinkers I received for Christmas.  I painted the background with the ink and then dropped little bits of water on top to create the look.  I kept the card clean and simple (CAS) to show off the background. I really love the way it turned out and I can't wait to try other color combos.

Card Details:
Owl stamp: Not sure which company it is from
Distress inks: bundled sage, pumice stone, weathered wood
Spellbinders lacy circle die
Stitched circle die

entered in to following challenges:
Avenue 613: Anything goes
Come and Get It Challenge: Mixed media (die cuts and alcohol inks)
Scrappy Hands: Forest Animals
The Paper Players: Clean and Simple

What a beautiful background you created for your card - the perfect backdrop to your brown owl. I'm sure your son loved this card. Thanks for joining my CAS 'Up, Up and Away' challenge over at The Paper Players this week!

A great masculine card, and how wonderful your son noticed your new technique! It's so nice to make cards for someone who pays attention to the details. Thanks so much for playing along with us this week at The Paper Players, Julie!
