Punch Art

The challenge this week at 52 Christmas Card Throw Down is to use punch art.  Sure wish I hadn't sold most of my smaller paper punches at a garage sale last month.  Good thing I kept one of my favorite punches, my Martha Stewart branch punch.  This punch is so versatile.  I decided to use it to create a wreath for the front of my card.  I then used a regular hole paper punch for the berries.  The card was created using the fancy frame flip its die from sizzix.  I have had this die for over a year and haven't used it because I was afraid it would break my cuttlebug.  Well, I broke my cuttlebug last week so decided to replace it with a Sizzix big kick.  My cuttlebug still works even though the side popped off and it has a crack in it but I just wasn't sure  how long it could last so I replaced it before I was stranded without a die cutter.

Card Details:
Card Shape: Sizzix fancy frame flip-its die
Spellbinders die
Martha Stewart branch paper punch
Hole paper punch
Sentiment: Spellbinders stamps

Silent Night

Happy Spring!  The weather this weekend is going to be perfect so I am planning on doing a little yard work and taking a walk.  Of course, I will do a little crafting too.
The new challenge at 52 christmas Card Throw Down is Silent Night.  For my DT card I decided to keep it simple.  I have been sick with a nasty cold/cough that has zapped my energy so simple sounded really good.  I used the nativity cut from the Inspired Heart Cricut cartridge.  I cut it out in white card stock and then used silver embossing over the entire cut. I embossed it with two layers so that it is very shiny.  Hope that shows up in the picture.  I love how it looks against the blue pattern paper.
Can't wait to see your creations.

Christmas Card

It's Saturday so that means another Christmas card is done.  Really looking forward to having all of my Christmas cards done early this year.
The challenge at 52 Christmas Card Throw Down this week is to use the colors pink, blue and silver.
I used a very dark midnight blue.  It looks almost black in the picture.  The background paper has some lovely silver foiled snowflakes.  I cut a few more snowflakes with my spellbinders dies.  I painted them with extreme glitter paint to give them a little extra sparkle.  As you can tell by looking at the snowflake on the left, I didn't wait for the paint to dry before I took my picture.  I use a very thin layer of the paint and will do multiple layers if needed.  The paint dries very quickly (less than 5 min) when you use light layers.  I was just a little impatient to get a picture.

Stamp: Magnolia Stamps

Toot!

I made this card for my brother-in-law.  Just about every card I have ever made for him has some kind of juvenile joke about passing gas, boogers, etc.  I figure as long as he continues to make it necessary for everyone to wear gas masks around him, I will never run out of jokes for cards!
This image was a freebie I picked up several years ago from Marlene at disguised as a grown up.  I don't think she is drawing digis anymore.

Here is the inside of the card.  I saw a similar sentiment about beans and weenies on another crafter's blog with this image and decided to make it work for mine.

Winter Is For The Birds

I don't know about you, but I am ready for spring.  I think we are finally on the warm up around here.  This next week the temps will be in the 50's!  So excited to let the kids play for longer periods of time outside.

This is my card for 52 Christmas Card Throw down. If you play along with us each week, you should have plenty of Christmas cards ready without all the stress at holiday time.  That's my plan this year.
This week the challenge is a sketch.  It's a great sketch.  I decided to make a card that I can use as either a Christmas card or as a thank you card for the holidays.

Here's the sketch

Bird Stamp: Peachy Keen Stamps

Mermaid

I made this card for a special young lady who turned 15 yesterday.  She used to wear her hair in two little pigtails just like this mermaid.
I decided to try a new to me color combo for this mermaid.  I usually do the teals or oranges but decided I needed to expand my color choices.  I love the way the yellows and greens look together.  I added some lime stickles to her tail for a little added sparkle.
