Welcome to another challenge at Aud Sentiments. We have 5 new DT members that will be joining us in our next challenge. We had so many talented crafters apply for the positions and it is always difficult to choose. I hope that those that didn't make it this time reapply during our next DT call.

Our theme for this challenge is "Sentiment/Card for a girl" which should be pretty easy. This week we are being sponsored by Di's Digi Downloads. The winner of this challenge will receive 5 digis of their choice. Don't forget to link up your project to the challenge blog.

Birthday Cake

We celebrated my niece's 8th birthday today. If you follow my blog regularly, you may remember me talking about her birthday plans. She is the special young lady that asked for guests to donate to charities that help animals around the world instead of giving her gifts.

My sister-in-law asked me to make the cake for the party and it was to be a surprise for Aubri. It has been so long since I decorated cakes that I think I am out of practice. This was also my first time using fondant. My husband helped by cutting out all of the zebra stripes so I could put them on the cake. My 17 year old son cut out all of the giraffe spots and put them on that part of the cake himself. I think we made a great team! My other son helped by eating the leftover frosting!

I had extra cake batter so I made cupcakes too. The kids loved the animals on top of the cupcakes.

Now my nephew wants me to make him a cake for his birthday. He is planning on having a Monster Truck party and I already have lots of ideas!

Dare To be Sassy Thursday #85 Distressing

I'm on a roll with projects today. It's my 2nd post for the day. It is also my birthday.

It's time for a new challenge at Sassy Studio Designs. This week we would like you to use a distressing technique on your project. For my card I used Pirate Penny. I used my fingernail to distress the edges of the papers and I also used distress inks. The button is from my stash. Not sure where I actually got this button. When I go to estate or garage sales I like to pick up fun looking buttons and this one caught my eye. You can't tell by the picture, but the skulls are popped for added dimension.

Don't forget to link your project up to Sassy Studio Designs for your chance to win your choice of sassy images.

Digi Doodle Shop Challenge #71 Shaped Cards

This week at Digi Doodle Shop's Challenges we are challenging you to create a shaped card. Your card can be any shape other than the typical square or rectangular card.

I created my card for a very special young lady who will be celebrating her birthday next week. My niece, Aubri, will be 8 years old. She decided that instead of the typical gifts this year she wanted guests to donate money to charities that help save animals around the world. How special is that! All three of the animals on my card arein need of help. The tiger is threatened by growing human populations, loss of habitat and illegal hunting. The giraffes and kangaroos are threatened by habitat destruction.

Toy Shopping Elf

I decided to make another Christmas card to add to my stash for the holidays. Peachy Keen Stamps had a great sketch for their current challenge and I couldn't resist giving it my own spin.

The stamp is Snickerdoodle Gift Elf from Peachy Keen Stamps. I added some white flower soft to his clothes for some fun trim and I sewed a jingle bell on to his hat.

The toy shop is actually the candy store cut from the My Community Cricut cartridge. I added a few toys from the B is for Boys and the Everyday Paper Dolls Cricut cartridges to display in the store windows. I finished the whole thing off by adding snow tex on the ground.

Aud Sentiments Challenge #34 Merry Christmas

It's time for another fun challenge at Aud Sentiments. This challenge is sponored by The Stamping Boutique and the theme is "Merry Christmas!" While I was making this card the temperature here in Missouri was over 100 degrees! With the heat index, we hit 119 degrees yesterday! For my card I used the image Snow Friends from The Stamping Boutique. Aren't these guys just the cutest? I used snow tex for the snow on the ground, extreme glitter paint on the snowmen, and white flower soft and robin's egg blue fun flock on the hat trims.

We would love to have you join us in this challenge. All you need to do is create a project following the theme of "Merry Christmas" and link it up to the Aud Sentiments challenge blog for your chance to win 3 digis of your choice from The Stamping Boutique.
