*I am sure some of you reading my blog post will think that the horse shoe is upside down. Many people put a horse shoe over the door with the horse shoe looking like a U so that they will have good luck. Actually, the horse shoe should be placed over the door just like in the digi image I used. This is to ward off the Devil. This tradition came about due to the story of St. Dunstan who is said to have nailed a horse shoe to the Devil to cause him great pain. Dunstan removed the horse shoe but made the Devil promise that he would never enter a place with the horse shoe over the door. If interested, you can read about St. Dunstan HERE.
